For Read Across America week, we decided to decorate our door in a Raven theme, of course! Students came up with all of the ideas and created the door as a non-fiction book. We included: A raven diagram, Illustrations, bold text, pop ups, lift the flap, interesting facts, and other elements that give information about our class mascot. We thought it was pretty great, and the judges did too. We won second place and a popsicle party!
The Ravens earned their dance party for OUTSTANDING behavior as a whole group. Check out some of our moves in this video! Oh, yeah, we also celebrated Oregon's Birthday with a cake and it was all on Valentine's Day, as well. Whew. That was a lot of fun. youtu.be/zLWl-jB4T-0 We had so much fun at our music program, which was rescheduled from November. Students were well-prepared and the performance was awesome! Here is a video of one of our songs!
The main character in Becoming Naomi Leon was a soap carver. So after we finished the book, we tried our hand at it, too! We dissolved candy canes in oil, vinegar, cold water and hot water. (I think the one in oil is still there!)Ms. H has been teaching us the dance moves to Thriller and we've really got it now! Check out this video!
Thank you to our PTO for the mini pumpkin painting project! |
